High-end beachfront properties still selling despite economic downturn

Naples beachfront properties are holding their value despite the economic downturn.
A residential lot at 373 Gulfshore Blvd. N. sold in November for $6,650,000 in a cash transaction. The .83 acre lot near the Naples Beach and Golf Club has been on the market - on and off- for three years. It was originally listed at $9,850,000 but their were building constraints on the land.
The president of the Naples Area Board of Realtors said the pricing on beachfront lots in Naples has strengthened this year. Selling prices are close to where they were at the peak of the market in 2005.
A check of the Multiple Listing Service shows four waterfront lots have sold this year for more than $6 million, the president said. Considering that there are few waterfront lots left, that is a significant number, which says alot for the Naples area.

Season's Greetings!

At this special time of year when we entertain our dearest friends and family, we thought we'd share a favorite recipe in hopes that you will give it a try or pass it along. If you like hot buttered rum, you'll love the taste, and it's easy to make!
Let us know what you think!
Enjoy!
Holiday Rum Cake
1 Cup chopped nuts
1 package yellow cake mix
1 - 3 3/4 oz. package vanilla instant pudding
4 eggs
1/2 Cup cold water
1/2 Cup oil
1/2 Cup Rum
Chop some nuts and sprinkle on the bottom of a greased and floured bundt or tube cake pan. Bake in 325 degree oven for 1 hour. I like to cut marcharino cherries in half and place on the bottom with the nuts for color.
Glaze
In saucepan, bring 1 stick butter, 1/4 Cup water, 1 Cup sugar, and 1/2 Cup rum to a boil. Drizzle over baked cake after taking out of pan. Serve
